Some cool 2D animation and enough paper-folding to drive a man crazy
This is a boldly bizarre approach to animation. I can’t even begin to think about how this guy planned out all the paper folding to do this. Definitely blurs the line between traditional 2D animation and stop motion since  his hands are part of the piece too. You’ll see what I mean with the scissors… Oh, almost forgot: The title...
Fox should just switch to Animation
Fox should just switch to Animation
Why is it a no-brainer (literally) for major studios to green-light live action CGI remakes of classic cartoon properties as feature films (Scooby Doo, Marmaduke, Yogi Bear, The Flintstones, Underdog, Garfield, Speed Racer, etc.), but the idea of reviving such characters as TV series is considered a no-no? One major reason movie execs chase these...
Furry Vengence
Monkey Bone. Dudley Do-Right. Looney Tunes: Back In Action. Brendan Fraser: “Why?” Yeah, I know this is mostly OT, and it’s mainly live action with some hybrid CG elements, and it doesn’t look funny — but this trailer has an important message: “You can’t escape the furries!”  Read More →

Animal Logic (Happy Feet) in Australia produced the animation. Here’s the trailer:...

Toy Story’s 3D process
Toy Story’s 3D process
The New York Times has an excellent article that describes the process that Toy Story and Toy Story 2 underwent at Pixar Animation Studios for their 3D re-release: The production process for a 3-D movie requires the use of two cameras, positioned next to each other, shooting action at the same time to mimic each of the viewer’s eyes. A live-action...
