Yeah, this is another post ragging on Cartoon Network as is spirals down the drainpipe of doom. I was at Meltdown Comics in Hollywood last night where found this flyer (at left, click to enlarge thumbnail), recruiting “male teens” for a new reality show. It reads: “Are you between 13 and 16 years old? Would you like to have a team of Former military SPECIAL FORCES train you and your friends to plan and execute real life missions? AWN Dock 0.4 - Avant Window Navigat...launchpad.net install: avant-window-navigator awn-applets-c-extras Avant-window-navigator (Awn) is a MacOS X like panel for the GNOME Desktop written in C. In addition to launchers that can be dragged onto the bar, it features a taskbar that behaves similarly to the Mac OSX dock. The window navigator uses the composite extension for transparency and other effects.

Customizing the Ubuntu Desktop: Ins...There are many Mac-like docks available for Linux and thus Ubuntu. In this video I'll install one of the most stable, AWN. It's available through the repositories so its fairly easy to install, though it may or may not be the most recent version. I'll go through some of the setup options. AWN launchpad.net
Avant Window Navigator (AVN) - MacO...This is a comprehensive tutorial/how to video on downloading, installing and configuring AWN using repositories. AWN is a dock/app launcher/taskbar application that is inspired by MacOS X-es dock, or whatever that thing on the bottom of the screen's called. The application's not only nice on the eyes it's also quite useful as you will soon realise after watching this video. If by any chance you do not have AWN in your repositories then add this one to your repos list: deb repoubuntusoftware.info karmic all#Ultimate Edition Repository However if you're running a Linux different to Ubuntu 9.10 (or Ubuntu 9.10 based distros, as my Mint in this video) than change the word "karmic' in this line to the approperiate name according to Ubuntu's distributions naming convention. Bone...EDIT 5/11/10- This video is featured on Cartoon Brew! www.cartoonbrew.com The finished version of the previous video: www.youtube.com ! I may add shading to the characters to make them more believable when I have the time, but for now, it can be posted. And BOY did this take long! I did this without any tweening anyway- yes, the animation is produced in Flash. BGs are painted in Photoshop. As you may have heard, Warner Bros. has hired AnimalLogic to animate his story BONE in CG- this video shows my take on how it would look if it were going to be produced in 2D. Sound is taken from the soundtrack of TellTale Games' video game of the series. Reflecting on this, even though the movie will be in CG, I REALLY think they should have a little 2D in it! Like, maybe in the opening and/or closing credits... or maybe in a short sequence in the body of the film!! It worked marvelously for Kung Fu Panda, and Cloudy... and I see a growing emergence of traditionally-animated credit sequences nowadays!!! Someone should suggest this to him! Here's to you, Jeff.
