Gantz is about two students killed by a train while saving a homeless man that accidentally fell onto the tracks. These two students, named Kei Kurono and Masaru Kato, then find themselves in an unfurnished apartment in Tokyo with other people they don’t know and a black sphere referred to as Gantz. After the black sphere opens up, they see that it contains a bald man and several racks of equipment that they are to use.
