This roto-heavy animated feature really slipped in under the radar. The first I heard of Mars was last week when it premiered at SXSW. The film, described as an interplanetary romantic comedy, is directed by Geoff Marslett, who is a teacher at University of Texas at Austin. Marslett described the production process in an indieWIRE interview : Visually falling somewhere half way between “Sin City” and “Waking Life”…or half way between a graphic novel and a hand colored photograph. Basically we shot the actors in a green screen studio here in Austin. They were there, and had costumes…but no props or backgrounds—that stuff was all green boxes and walls. Customizing the Ubuntu Desktop: Ins...There are many Mac-like docks available for Linux and thus Ubuntu. In this video I'll install one of the most stable, AWN. It's available through the repositories so its fairly easy to install, though it may or may not be the most recent version. I'll go through some of the setup options. AWN launchpad.net
Avant Window Navigator (AVN) - MacO...This is a comprehensive tutorial/how to video on downloading, installing and configuring AWN using repositories. AWN is a dock/app launcher/taskbar application that is inspired by MacOS X-es dock, or whatever that thing on the bottom of the screen's called. The application's not only nice on the eyes it's also quite useful as you will soon realise after watching this video. Once inside the clients home, the repairman realizes theres nothing wrong with the TV. Rather its the images broadcasted on the screen: wars, famine, illness and kidnappings, that are broken. Moved by the clients naïve request, and against his better judgment, the cable guy will attempt to fix the problem. Simon Olivier Fecteau has started his career at Radio-Canada, in 1999, with the group Chick'n Swell and its eponym TV show that was awarded best comic TV show in 2004 (Gemeaux Awards). Then, he directed two shorts: Les derniers jours and Le pouce vert. He co-directed the Radio-Canada's Bye Bye in 2006 and 2007. The same year, he is co-directing with Marc-André Lavoie his first feature film, Bluff. He is actually working on his next feature script but he still had the time to make the short film The Technician.

My synopsis: Mark Nicholson runs around the forest trying to find out where he left his sense of style getting pnuemonia in the process. Along the way he meets an emo friend who likes to sit on stumps. Fotunately somewhere in there a sword appears as well as a gun and there is a tiny bit of action but it's painful becasue you have to watch all the rest of the film beforehand with me looking like a weeaboo.
